Shredding Services

We offer three distinct document shredding plans for your convenience.

Plan A: Mobile Document Shredding At Your Site.

This plan is ideal for those clients who, for a variety of reasons, would like to keep a close eye on the entire document destruction process. Under Plan A, we send our mobile document shredding unit directly to you.

What’s that mean? Well, keep looking out the window – you’ll see it coming in plenty of time. Our mobile unit is a self-contained shredding truck that carries with it the largest shredding-and-bailing unit on the market. It generates its own power, so we won’t raise your electric bill. And the shredding unit inside the truck is hungrier than a newborn baby bird – it eats everything from file folders and rubber bands to paper clips and binder clips. So there’s no need for you to prep the material for shredding.

Our mobile document shredding unit is also equipped with a state-certified scale, which determines the total weight of material to be shredded (we charge by weight, keeping your cost lower than if we charged by time). It’s also got a complete video recording system, which will document the shredding event on tape.

At the end of the process, our technician-in-charge will provide you with a copy of the scale tickets and the video of your shredding, and ask you to sign a route receipt.

You’ll receive your invoice, Certificate of Destruction, and a recycling report in the mail.

Many of our clients ask us: Why do you charge by weight, and not by time? It’s simple: An extensive investigation by our management team of other document shredding firms that charge by the hour revealed that this is not a cost-effective method for customers. Many of our own clients have come to us after having unpleasant experiences with per-hour firms. Among their complaints:

  • The workers wasted time.
  • The workers charged clients for the time it took to carry material from the office to the truck. In cities with traffic congestion, this often means a considerable amount of time, since parking isn’t always available in the most convenient locations.
  • Some clients were still on the clock during regular work breaks.
  • Some document destruction firms continued to charge their clients if police made workers move the truck. In cities like New York, this can be a frequent occurrence, tacking on even more time.
  • Some clients, on visiting the truck, were unable to find the workers.
  • Many clients spent twice what they were led to believe the cost would be.

When you hire our mobile document shredding truck, you’ll only pay for what we shred – regardless of how long it takes. If you know the weight of your material in advance, you’ll know your cost to the penny.

Our mobile document destruction procedures conform with the shredding regulations of HIPAA, the Gramm Leach Bliley Financial Modernization Act, FACTA, and the New Jersey Identity Protection Act.

Plan B: In-House Shredding At Our Site

Our most popular plan, in-house document shredding is designed for larger-volume clients, or those clients who require the shredding of 100 or more boxes of material. The entire process is designed to protect the privacy of your sensitive documents. With every step, our staff takes the utmost care to ensure that your materials are kept secure.

Under this plan, we’ll send a driver and an assistant to your location with all of the equipment it takes to remove your files and records. They load the materials into a secure truck, then lock them in.

When the truck arrives at our facility, our Director of Quality Control removes the lock, and under his supervision, our staff remove the contents, weigh them, log them, and move them to a secure facility to await shredding.

Between 24 and 48 hours later, the shredding process begins. Our in-house shredding machine can destroy 5,000 pounds of documents in an hour. And if you like to watch shredding in action – or if you just want to impress your firm’s lawyers – you can come watch the entire process unfold at our site.

When every last document is shredded, you’ll receive four things:

  • An invoice
  • A Certificate of Destruction
  • A video recording of the shredding process, if you want one
  • A recycling report

Plan B is one of our more economical plans; by choosing it, you save 25 to 35 percent of what you’d pay for mobile document shredding. This method is also HIPAA, GLB and FACTA compliant.

Plan C: Scheduled Pick-up and Document Destruction

Those clients who choose scheduled pick-up and document destruction will receive Accurate’s Security Console, a furniture-grade cabinet that provides the highest level of security in the document destruction industry. These cabinets meet or exceed the safe storage requirements outlined in HIPAA and the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Financial Modernization Act.

Our Security Console locks with a key, and inside is a security bag. which we empty on a regularly scheduled basis. We bring the material inside back to our facility for shredding. Our Director of Quality Control has a duplicate key, and supervises the destruction of your material, as in Plan B.

The Security Console is as safe as it is attractive. Providing a greater level of security than any similar cabinets on the market, it cannot be pried open like a typical plastic security bin. Its appearance, devoid of any signage or lettering, does not draw attention to the fact that it holds confidential information.

The 20" square foot-print of the unit means that it can be placed virtually anywhere in your office without taking up valuable floor space. In fact, the top of the console is a great place for a fax machine or any other electronic office device.

The security bag inside the unit has been tested to hold in excess of 100 lbs. of material, that equals the contents of two full copy paper boxes, or 10,000 sheets of 8 1/2" x 11" paper.

This method is HIPAA and GLB approved.

With Plan C, you’re assured an array of benefits:

  • You’ll get a fixed price per console, so you always know your cost in advance.
  • Your company can earn discounts of up to 30 percent per console by ordering multiple units.
  • Joining our Client Rewards Club allows you to receive additional discounts by recommending new accounts.
